When you use Chirp, we collect:

• Account information (email address, password hash)
• Content you create (status pages, incidents, components)
• URLs you configure for monitoring
• Subscriber email addresses for your status pages
• IP addresses and server logs for security and rate limiting

If you sign in with a third-party provider, we receive basic profile information (name, email) from that provider.

We use your information to:

• Provide and operate the service
• Send notifications to your subscribers
• Process payments
• Prevent abuse
• Communicate service updates

We process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the service), and where necessary, based on our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention) or your consent. We do not sell your personal information.

We use third-party services for hosting, database, email delivery, payment processing, and AI features. These providers only process your data as necessary to provide their services to us. Some of these providers are located outside the EU/EEA and process data under standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

When you use AI-assisted features, the text you provide is sent to third-party AI services for processing. AI features are optional.

We use only essential cookies for authentication. No analytics, tracking, or advertising cookies.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where required by law.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, restrict, object to processing, delete, or export your personal data. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Chirp is not intended for use by anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy. Continued use of Chirp after changes constitutes acceptance. We will update the date at the top of this page.
